Role Summary:
The Communications Leader for GE Oil & Gas Digital Solutions will support our Digital Solutions CEO in driving business growth and transformation for GE across the oil and gas, and primary adjacent sectors (Power, Aviation, Process Industries.) In this critical role, s/he will help define the vision for the GE Oil & Gas Digital Solutions business and develop strategic communications plan to execute on this vision.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities as the Digital Solutions Communications Leader include:

  • Develop clear positioning for Digital Solutions in the marketplace, driving thought leadership, and outcome-centric messaging for the Digital Solutions portfolio
  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy, collaborating with the GE Oil & Gas Communities of Practice to target communications by customer, employee, influencer, media and analyst audiences.
  • Build and execute thought leadership programs to condition the market, across the oil and gas, aviation, power and processing industries to drive awareness, consideration and pipeline generation for Digital Solutions offerings.
  • Serve as strategic counselor and advisor to the GE Oil & Gas HQ and Digital Solutions teams, while also coordinating with GE Corporate, and adjacent GE businesses
  • Help drive the internal culture of the growing Digital Solutions business, developing internal rhythms, processes and mining for stories to support a cultural transformation in creating a flexible, nimble, and growing digital industrial company.
  • Partner with GE Oil & Gas Customer Communications team, Product Marketing and Product Management to develop customer-centric integrated marketing communications campaigns and programs that condition the market and build pipeline
  • Develop content, campaigns and social communities that drive customer and stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish metrics to measure and report on value being delivered by the position.
  • Develop media relations and serve as GE Oil & Gas key media spokesperson where authorized

    Success Criteria Major personal performance objectives for this role in the first 12 months are:

  • Ensure our Digital Solutions communication efforts align to our internal messaging so that as we transition to a digital industrial company, employees understand what that means and the role they play in transformation.
  • In partnership with Public Affairs, establish thought leadership platform for CDO and build additional technical thought leadership program with product managers across the organization.
  • Build relationship and operating rhythm with GE Digital to define where O&G is the headline of the story and where we are the proof points.
  • Partner with Commercial and Customer Communications to build a thoughtful digital commercial strategy - with a critical focus on channel partners.
  • Drive Digital Solutions web strategy in partnership with Information Technology, Marketing & Commercial as we build our digital offerings and increase revenue marketing efforts.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related fields.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant corporate and/or agency media/communications/marketing experience.
  • Minimum 6 years global and domestic communications and media leadership experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ focus in the technology sector, ideally in software.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required (roughly 25% of the time)
