Role Summary:
Based in San Ramon, California, and managed from London, UK, the Marketing Communications Leader will be a globally-focused strategic and creative individual with experience in simplifying complex stories into simple and impactful messaging. They will have a wealth of experience in marketing communications, and a proven track record driving results in software communication.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Marketing Communications Leader for Digital will work closely with the product management, commercial, marketing, communications and other key business teams to create and deliver integrated communication campaigns on digital offerings and products for GE Oil and Gas Digital, encompassing product / solution commercialization, recommendations or needs for customer engagement activities, sales enablement, branding and select advertising to create demand, foster market growth, position the GE brand and strengthen customer relationships.

Specifically, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop, deliver and measure strategic commercial communications campaigns centred around our digital portfolio, including innovative methods to create demand for digital offerings with target customers, position digital offerings in the competitive space and drive awareness in the marketplace
  • Work closely with key business teams and product managers to define audiences, craft high-impact value proposition messaging , create success stories, develop thought leadership positioning, develop product catalogues and collaborate with team peers to amplify messaging through all relevant channels, while customizing according to specific needs, in alignment with the GE Oil & Gas and GE Digital positioning
  • Create compelling marketing communications content for a broad spectrum of digital products, services and solutions, in multiple formats that can be delivered through all relevant channels to support the business value story messaging and brand promise
  • Collaborate with the full network of communicators to ensure strong digital presence and a streamlined high volume message consistency across all campaign channels
  • Collaborate with regional communications managers globally to deliver digital marcomms messages that can be tailored for market and customer-specific needs
  • Integrate all messaging with the GE Digital messaging in a compelling and comprehensive way


    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations / agency, marketing or marketing communications in the digital arena

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel (roughly 20% of the time)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA

  • Demonstrable ability in digital and software marketing communications, with a portfolio of successful examples from product launches and promotions for iterative launches (ie software)
  • Proven strong core communication skills, including copywriting for multiple channels/formats (messaging banks, digital content, speeches, presentations, thought leadership, etc.), information research, subject matter expert interviews
  • Oversee integrated content marketing communications strategy for external positioning and storytelling of APM and Production Optimization, partnering on digital advertising and promotions
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical messaging into succinct value story positioning
  • Demonstrated executive presence; ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to flexibly manage changing project priorities while maintaining a high quality work product
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategies with close alignment and connection with sales, marketing and product line functions
  • Proven ability in managing external business partners including creative and production agencies and other support vendors
  • Strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of developing implementing and measuring communications campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and tracking project / campaign budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in both independent management of project / campaign priorities along with proactive collaboration with communications peers and other key stakeholders
  • Evaluate emerging digital integrated marketing communications technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Ability to influence people to exceed business objectives
  • Digital marketing experience is essential
  • Industrial and/or Energy Industry experience in B2B marketing
  • Deep understanding of sales cycles
  • Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
  • Positive, enthusiastic and confident attitude
