Role Summary:
The Lead Engineer is responsible of leading the team in the operating activities relevant to modules or components test. He/she will be the focal point of the assigned test from the definition phase of the test through the whole process to data post-processing and reporting. He/she will coordinate the involved experimental testing team and will interface with the Customer of the test.

Essential Responsibilities:
Preliminary test activities:

  • The test engineer will help the test leaders / CTHs in the following:
    • definition of the test architecture
    • concurrence and review of the test request / test plan
  • He/she will coordinate the team in the following activities:
    • guarantee the availability of all the components necessary for executing the test activities
    • quotation and planning
    • installation of test rigs and test articles
    • ensure proper layout of fluidic /mechanical/instrumentation/electrical connections
    • commissioning
    • set up and configure the data acquisition system
  • He/she will review and record the test article quality documentation
  • Test activities
  • He/she will guarantee the execution of the test activities, i.e.:
    • coordinate the team that will operate in the test cell ensuring the management of tests with respect to times agreed upon and configuration standards required,
    • registration/filing of test data / logbook,
    • communications and updates relevant to the test execution issuing the daily report
    • managing the test data with the standard tools provided
    • fulfilling the schedule of the test campaign agreed with the internal/external customer and the test leader
    • Perform all the troubleshooting processes as needed, both on the rig and on the test article
  • Post test activities:
  • He/she will coordinate the team in the following activities:
    • test data validation, with the help of the Test Leader
    • disassembly and preservation of material used
    • issuing of test reports and management of test data
  • Guarantee quality of test activities
  • He/she will have to perform the activities following the rationalization and standardization of test methods reported in the test procedures, with the intention of improving efficiency and effectiveness and meet the quality standards/requirements.

    Qualifications/Requirements:
    • Bachelor degree in Aeronautics or Mechanical Engineering
    • Fluent English
    • Proven experience in an engineering role
    • Knowledge of mechanical components design and familiarity with mechanical drawings
    • Background in control systems
    • Some background in air/oil network systems, general plant services, electrical and electronics is highly desirable.
    • Some background in measurement and acquisition systems
    • EU work permit

      Desired Characteristics:
      • Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
      • Strong oral and written communication skills
      • Some background in high frequency data management and vibration analysis
      • Proven experience in leading cross functional and multicultural teams
      • PC proficiency
      • Availability for three shifts work
      • Fluency in Italian
