Role Summary: Working with the local Area Managers and Account Managers the GSL is responsible for driving the conversion of targeted new profitable sales opportunities within a defined scope (Area(s), Industry/Industries)), mainly the Primary Metal and Pulp & Paper industries.
Essential Responsibilities: The GSL will sell the full portfolio of products and services using and coaching Strategic Selling techniques and the Value Delivery model. The GSL is expected to be focused on large sales opportunities and personally lead the largest opportunities in the Region as assigned by the GSM. Other projects/activities may be assigned to the GSL based on experience, development & business needs.
EHS & Compliance:
Ensure they work in a safe manner at all times when delivering company objectives and comply with internal, legislative and customer EHS requirements and policies
To act at all times in compliance with the GE Spirit and Letter policies when maintaining and developing relationships with customers
Meet or exceed key metrics for assigned targets and/or other project activities
Drive new sales activity as directed by the Growth Sales Manager (GSM) within a defined boundary or Industry Vertical like Primary Metal and Pulp & Paper to achieve growth targets
Personally lead & close opportunities assigned by the GSM working with all the appropriate resources e.g. Product Applications, CommOps, Technical Marketing & Area Sales teams
Maintain concise update of sales opportunity pipeline activity and data in SFDC CRM tool (Salesforce.com)
Coach the opportunity team members in advanced needs based sales techniques, such as Strategic Selling and Negotiation
Promote i-service and Insight technology at all opportunities
Ensure all opportunity commercial deals meet the Company profitability expectations and service level agreements are in-line with Area resource capability
Partner with Account Management personnel to ensure a smooth start-up and implementation of new business contracts
Accurately forecast to the Account/Area manger team
Preferred Chemistry degree or equivalent scientific qualification
Proven track record of successfully developing and closing large opportunities at New Customers
Comfortable selling and presenting to the highest levels within the Customer operation
Excellent organisational, communication & interpersonal skills
Strong new business sense with effective consultative capability able to leverage client relationships and influence decision criteria
Ability to negotiate successfully with Economic buyers and Senior Procurement personnel
Proven successful experience in the Water treatment and direct sales success across a broad range of Industries
Highly agile and able to work successfully in a matrix organisation
Goal oriented self-starter
Tools Proficiency with PC skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Availability to travel within assigned area, including overnight stops
Possession of a valid driving license in country location
EU work permit
