Role Summary: As the EMEA Leader for Platform Technologies, you will be responsible for the lifecycle of all middleware, web and database strategies in region. This includes new technology introductions, design, build and run responsibilities. Set and execute our strategy for platforms to enable our ERP, Cloud and Industrial Big Data initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for all platform technologies in Aviation. • Drive technology choices, strategy, and implementation decisions to achieve high reliability, performance, and adaptability of all technologies under this domain. • Guide architects, technical managers, and vendor resources in technology choices and resolution of critical issues. • Partner with Technical Program Managers, Business Analysts, Business Solutions Leaders, Operations Teams, and other organizations to deliver world-class technology platforms. • Maintain peer relationships across GE and externally to shape corporate platform strategies. • Provide thought leadership with respect to technical architecture (application, data, network, hardware/system software) in the design, development, deployment and production support of new and existing platforms implemented in their area. • Analyze and estimate feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with other programs within their area. • Innovatively analyze and plan for future technologies as well as technology shifts in support of business growth and business and technology change. • Build and grow personal technology expertise, and develop in-depth knowledge of business needs and systems as a recognized technology expert. • Foster and grow technical talent in their area and disseminate good technology decision-making and practice to other employees. • Serve as a primary interface to the CIO / CTO on the delivery and health of technologies in their area • Integrate with a larger DBA team that supports other custom Oracle database applications • Work effectively across various support teams and with senior management • Participate in the technical mentoring, training and education of team members • Ensure our GDC vendors provide appropriate level of service by measuring the progress of GDC engagements, and correcting where necessary • Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to implement and support 3rd Party products within the Oracle framework • Architect HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability • Support 24/7/365 applications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and work experience • Proven years of experience with problem analysis/resolution for O/S, database, and middle tier technologies • Proven years of experience in Oracle database administration experience through 11gR3 including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning (SQL, OEM, and PL/SQL)

• Prior experience with a broad array of Infrastructure technologies (compute, network, telecom, database, etc.) is preferred • Strong program management skills including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication • Ability to excel in a global matrix organization • Familiarity with Cloud and Industrial Big Data technologies and platforms. • Understanding of platform as a service (PAAS) strategies / providers. • Experience with Linux and or Solaris operating systems • Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions • Direct experience with off-shore support models • Ability to meet objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple teams • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways • Experience in Oracle RAC, Dataguard, and Grid control • Strong skills in new product evaluation, architecture, implementation, and integration with Oracle databases and Oracle Applications
