Role Summary:
PowerMax is a global mission critical ERP solution based on SAP technologies aiming to standardize GE Power’s core business processes and tools to harmonize the way we execute business activities globally. As senior SAP BASIS administrator, you’ll be part of the ERP platforms team responsible for architecture, technical design, implementation and operational support of SAP tools and technologies.

Essential Responsibilities:

In summary, the services include SAP NetWeaver and BASIS administration, system landscape strategy, technical architecture, integration architecture, security and compliance activities as well as operational support.

  • Analyze requirements, propose solutions or contribute towards technical architecture and design of SAP core tech. stack and platforms such as NetWeaver, HANA
  • Focus on integration technologies, security, encryption and related concepts
  • Contribute towards system landscape strategy, including design and realization of solutions such as high availability, disaster recovery, state of the art proactive monitoring and error handling
  • Support and assist ERP CoE and P&L teams to evaluate technical solutions for new projects and requirements
  • Collaborate with ERP CoE in development, planning and execution of releases and deployments in adherence with standardized PowerMax methodologies
  • Partner with internal and external platform service providers, ERP CoE, shared services, GE Digital IT and SAP in design, development and implementation of SAP technology solutions
  • Work with application and security teams to promptly address security vulnerability issues protecting ERP applications, database, infrastructure and technology stack




Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information Technology) or (a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Information Technology or Software).



Eligibility Requirements: (for US below)

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Schenectady, NY, Lawrenceville, NJ, Van Buren, MI, Atlanta, GA, Bangalore, India



Desired Characteristics:

  • In depth knowledge of SAP platforms, NetWeaver, HANA & operational BASIS administration (certifications in these areas a plus)
  • Strong experience with planning, design, installation & technical configuration of SAP modules and components
  • In depth knowledge of SAP offerings and ecosystem, SAP architecture, application lifecycle management and run methodology
  • Strong experience with operations of large scale global SAP landscapes
  • Experience with complex technical integration and monitoring solutions for SAP applications and platforms
  • Experience with state of the art security and compliance standards
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills to provide L3 support to diagnose and repair performance and availability issues
  • Proactive responsible individual, able to set own action plans
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure life cycle management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Must be comfortable with change and actively driving improvements
