Role Summary: In this role of Manufacturing Operator you will assemble component parts or sub-assemblies using basic tools such as screwdrivers, clamps, exacto-knives, allen wrenches, tweezers, wire cutters or cotton swabs. You will work to a pre-assigned level of output while insuring that high quality is maintained. You will work with solder, flux, adhesives and other basic chemicals in performing assembly detail.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Manufacturing Operator you will:
Follow step-by-step guidelines from basic blueprints, diagrams, process sheets and/or prints in performing assemblies
Rotate among various assembly stations in order to receive training and gain general knowledge and experience on multiple work stations within work center / department
May be assigned to more complex assembly tasks, as needed, to facilitate cross training and to cover department/work center needs
You will be expected to work using a microscope or magnifying equipment to perform intricate sub-assemblies
You may be asked to work in the stockroom area, completing tasks such as receiving parts, quality control on incoming parts, stocking and shipping activities
Follow all prescribed safety regulations
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or small parts assembly
Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Ability and willingness to work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability and willingness to be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Ability and willingness to stand for long periods of time, as required
Ability and willingness to perform repetitive fine hand assembly
Must have good manual dexterity and eyesight
Must be able to read, write and use basic math; maintain a high degree of accuracy in performing repetitive tasks; work with basic chemicals
Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment, including: increased automation, change in production methods or sequences, rotation among workstations
Must be able to work well with others in-group, cell, work center or flow-line assembly operations and team problem solving activities
As required by job, must be able to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Soldering, Crimping, Blueprint Reading, ESD Training, Safety / Ergonomics, and Reading and following method / process sheets
