Role Summary: The Software Engineer or UX (User Experience) designer will work with the customer, product owner, Front End Developer, and development team to implement user interfaces creating intuitive contextual and state of the art user experience. You should be a Visual Design enthusiast with a strong hold on User Experience design and coding – A flavor of both UX and UI. You will be a member of an integrated squad working together to deliver successful outcomes on the GE Predix 2.0 platform
Essential Responsibilities: - Work with the end customers to create visually appealing, contextual and state of the art user experiences using world class UX design principles - Work with other front end developers to define best practices and processes around user interface development - Collaborate with business, QA & cross-functional team members to deliver software solutions - Implement detailed functional and technical specifications required to satisfy business requirements - Provide functional and technical documentation - Monitor and maintain application code quality and security from development to production - Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy to navigate user interfaces (UI) that consist of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing - Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean / Agile / XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques. - Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality aligned with GE Predix standards and guidelines - Be a strong steward and contributor to the Predix reference architecture both in terms of the applications stacks and integrations and ensure the standards are followed in the building solutions for the businesses.
Qualifications/Requirements: -Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or Computer Science -7+ years of User Experience design experience with experience of GE UX standards -Expertise with GE application development frameworks including PREDIX2.0 & IIDx. -Visual Design enthusiast with a strong hold on User Experience design and coding – A flavor of both UX and UI -Technical Expertise: Hands on Knowledge on Adobe Creative Suite - Design & Web Premium, Microsoft Office Professional Plus, Microsoft Visio, Axure, UX Pin, Basalmiq, Axure RP, CMS Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal, QuarkXPress, OmniGraffle, HTML5 and CSS 3. -Functional Expertise: Graphic Design, Information Architecture, Usability Testing, Competitor Analysis, Contextual Inquiry, Analytics, Surveys, Expert Reviews, Task Flow, Customer Experience Map, Personas, Sketching, Wireframes, Prototypes, Agile.
Desired Characteristics: echnical Expertise: - Experience developing iOS and/or Android mobile solutions - Entrepreneurial and proactive spirit. - Experience with cloud development and deployment - Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
