Role Summary: We are taking on the world’s biggest challenges through innovative software solutions. In this role, you will work with a group of energized and focused software professionals, analytics researchers, data scientists and domain experts in the areas of big data processing, text mining and analytics visualization leveraging contemporary tools, technologies and development methodologies to build prognostic and diagnostic products using sensor data from smart devices.
You will be responsible for programming a feature and or a small feature set. You will contribute to the team and works with direction from the Senior Team Members or management but works independently.
In this role you will:
Act as a member of the Software Center of Excellence, representing the face of high quality design and development practices.
Write codes that meet standards and deliver desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Build features such as web services and Queries on existing tables.
Collaborate with system engineers, front end developers and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions.
Develop high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end web applications.
Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Minimum Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA.
Graduating between July 2016 and June 2017.

Must be willing to work out of an office located in New Orleans, LA.
Desired Characteristics: Technical Expertise:
Experience in building features such as web services and Queries on existing tables.
Aware of Methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP, etc. May have prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile. Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).
Operates with general understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle. Familiarity with versatile management options, including story mapping, lean management, among others.
Experience developing web applications (Spring, RESTful, Jersey, RestEasy, JAX-WS, Web Services)
Experience with database tools (JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring Data).
Experience with rules engines (Camel, Drools, JRules) & modern tooling (Gradle, Maven, Git, SVN).
Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in software or relevant area.
Effective use of data structures and algorithms.
Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.
Displays understanding of the project’s value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.
Voices opinions and presents clear rationale. Uses data or factual evidence to influence.
Learns organization vision statement and decision making framework. Able to understand how team and personal goals/objectives contribute to the organization vision.
