Role Summary: The Requirements Management Process Manager will manage the systems engineering functions across GE Oil and Gas related to the tools and processes needed to properly manage our requirements including full traceability, tracking, and verification. The Requirements Manager will pursue a route to execution that meets business needs and fits the capability and maturity of the various stakeholder businesses.
Essential Responsibilities: The Requirements Management Process Manager will establish and maintain the RM process and best practices to include engineering methods, processes, tools, and training. In this role, you will create programs responsive to external environments and participate in cross-functional business and cultural development to fully embed a robust Requirements Management process across GE Oil & Gas.
In the role of The Requirements Management Process Manager, you will:
The Requirements Manager will use influence to further the acceptance of the RM roadmap
Capture best practices and lesson learned from across GE O & G and the pilot to form the basis of the final RM process
Engage stakeholders and derive the needs of the business in terms of specific fidelity of the needed process
Provide basic, intermediate, and advanced training in the areas of requirements engineering and DOORS
Work with customers and vendors to achieve an interoperable solution that limits the work required in exchanging and maintaining a single source of project requirements
Provide O&G expert contact for requirements management & engineering
Provide O&G expert contact for DOORS 9.6 and/or DOORS NG users
Provide O&G with support & coaching for project requirements structure & form
Coordinate maintenance activities with Project Requirements Structure Controllers
Manage creation / modification of custom DXL scripts
Create new projects and user groups when required by the business
Define appropriate data access levels
Advise Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) on how DOORS can support ReMP
Produce standard Database metrics capability(e.g.:- local usage rates, no. users, etc)
Provide capability to monitor project requirements health
Interface with RMG to ensure appropriate policies and templates are defined
Coordinate network of Database Administrators to ensure consistent approach, covering DOORS use and CDM
Produce and disseminate training materials appropriate for basic, advanced and administration roles
Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts for ReMP
Set future strategy for Requirements Management tools
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of systems engineering experience including minimum 2 years of experience in DOORS user & administration expertise
Minimum 5 years leading Requirements Management teams
Masters Degree in Systems Engineering from an accredited college or university
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions
INCOSE CSEP or equivalent certification/Training
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
Considered an expert in Requirements Management and/or Systems Engineering
