Role Summary:
Responsible for testing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. S/he contributes to quality engineering discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Break down problems and estimates time for quality related tasks
  • Own medium-sized quality engineering tasks; and delivers while mentoring and helping team members
  • Implement Behavior driven unit tests that interact with the application code
  • Design and implement automated regression tests in C# and other test automation tools
  • Work with Global team to coordinate test plan, deliverables, identify and mitigate risks, communicate challenges and present options to management.
  • Provide expertise in the quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for a software project
  • Work with Product management, Product owners, Clinical analyst and Architects to challenge the solution under development
  • Make technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impact
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
  • Integrate project testing with continuous-integration process
  • Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored
  • Collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans
  • Provide expertise in the quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for a software project
  • Develop and executes maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in testing software including creating and running manual or automation test cases OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience testing software including creating and running manual or automation test cases

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Downtown Chicago (temporarily Barrington), Illinois.

    Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in test automation and frameworks, like White or Selenium
  • Experience in a OO coding languages like C#, Java or Java Script
  • Experience in performance and load testing
  • Experience implementing Behavior driven unit tests (BDD) that interact with the application code
  • Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure

  • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks
  • Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience
