As our new Program Manager (“PM”), you will establish Employee Cost Digital Thread (ECDT) and develop product roadmap for GPAS (Global Payroll Accounting System). ECDT is high visibility initiative to digitally integrate Finance & HR processes.
GPAS is a global accounting engine for payroll. Both are critical enablers to create touchless accounting and reporting process for GE’s workforce. They will standardize employee costing master data between Finance & HR systems. Over a period of time, you may mentor one or more product managers or leadership program employees.
As the product owner for a portfolio of products you need to define, manage and execute the product roadmap. Be the finance and/or IT domain expert to guide functional and IT groups within the extended team.
You will also project manage the initiative by running appropriate rhythm with mid and senior management stake holders. You will not only bring your own expertise but also actively seek inputs from other domain experts through periodic touch points or workouts.
As a Product Manager, you will:
Acts as a finance domain and process expert for standardizing and aligning costing fields in Finance and HR systems. Build product roadmap for GPAS.
Pro-actively engage with mid and senior management stake holders to drive execution and manage expectations.
Project manage key milestones through periodic touchpoints and workouts with domain experts
Work cross functionally across Finance, HR, IT and payroll experts to formulate strategy, pivot points and execution.
Drive decision on level of alignment Finance and HR systems should have for various costing fields used for employee cost reporting.
Ensure alignment of various hierarchies in Finance and HR systems (Organization, Function, etc.).
Develop or assist in development of payroll accounting standard with the businesses. Document them as enterprise standard.
Work closely with GPAS implementation team to learn unique country requirements and incorporate that in the product design.
Replicate product management process and roadmap for each business as they are ready for aligning Finance and HR systems.
Establish strong working relationship with extended Finance and HR leadership teams in each business.
Make recommendations on tools and processes required to aggressively drive our products forward relative to both existing and new businesses
About 20% of the time to travel within US and globally
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
A Minimum of 8 years of experience in Finance. Demonstrated experiences in handling complex and high visibility projects through-out the career.
A minimum of 2 years of cumulative experience in IT projects related to GL/ERP/FP&A or finance systems with respect to either deployment or testing.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in FP&A or Accounting function
A workable knowledge of finance systems
Leverages competitive information, market data, and opportunity cost to drive areas of portfolio focus (Product & Services)
Aligns goals, feature sets, capabilities to business objectives for the product.
Expertise in a variety of FP&A or accounting systems and processes
Experience designing and delivering finance systems solutions – particularly in the FP&A arena
Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance. Measures the impact of trends (cyclical or a shift) and takes action relative to product value position and overall strategy
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes
Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
Articulates the story, uses two way communication and influences outcomes and ongoing results
Strong oral and written communication skills
FMP or CAS graduate or on XLP Program.
