Essential Responsibilities: The Facility / Campus Structural Engineer will utilize their experience and /or expertise to solve problems and have the ability to effect short-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Serve as a point of contact between Campus Services and customer
Work towards the schedule, budget and scope of projects
Develop design and specifications for projects, prepare request for proposal and contract documentation, evaluate proposals and administer contract
Utilize internal and external resources to achieve project goals
Work towards safety standards
Monitor project progress and provide routine budget and schedule updates to customers and management
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
5 additional years of experience in Structural design and related Project Management
Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time both domestically and internationally (if needed)
Frequently ascend / descend stairs to access roofs, overhead cranes, and work atop structures, including catwalks, runways, etc.
BS or MS in Civil / Structural Engineering
PE registration or in process of completing the PE requirements
Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and facility structures
Experience in concrete, masonry, and steel design
Knowledge of building systems including foundation, envelope, and roofing
Knowledge of equipment foundation design and installation
Experience in the inspection and evaluation of building systems and structures
Knowledge of crane system design and development including jib cranes, underhung, and top running cranes systems
Experience in roadway and parking lot construction and maintenance
Knowledge of the BOCA National Building Code.
Knowledge of OSHA compliant fall protection systems for roofs, cranes and runways, and equipment
Knowledge of schedule and resource planning techniques and software
Ability to make decisions quickly
Strong understanding of estimation and budgeting process
Strong negotiation skills with customers, management, peers, and subordinates
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage and coordinate extensive internal and external project resources
Strong knowledge of contract administration, technical, legal and commercial
