Role Summary:
To draw basic and detailed design to deliver required engineering drawing for manufacturing and site erection based on Customer specifications, requirement and internal standards.
Designer is the technical guarantor of the proper performance to reflect design done in his field of activity, in matter of committed design budget (man days), deadline and Quality promoting ease of installation, operation and maintenance of the system in line with customer expectation functionally.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Create 2D and 3D CAD models and Drawings using CAD Software. Check, validate, and issue master models and drawings.
• Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
• Draw and elaborate civil and structural basic design and detailed for HV and EHV substations such as: HV equipment foundations sizing, control building and relay building design, drainage, metallic structures design (Equipment support and gantries), etc.
• Translate in drawings civil design criteria’s for substations, ensuring traceability from Customer requirements specifications.
• Elaborate electromechanical basic and detailed drawing designs for HV and EHV substations such as: Physical arrangements, electrical and electromechanical equipment, shielding, earthing designs, all complementary systems etc.
• Detail main electrical characteristics of HV equipment, ensuring traceability from Customer requirements to equipment specifications.
• Understand Design Change documentation and requirements and execute changes.
• Define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities.
• Drive Model Based Definition initiative within the team.
• Identify process and product improvements
• Support Project-planning schedules
• Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality and ensuring schedule requirements are met.
• Follow project strategy
• Follow design process.
• Give support to project construction team in order to solve any issue related to substations engineering.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Have a Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Experience with CAD Models.
• Knowledge of international normative related to substations design.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
• Communication skills in English. Must have High Intermediates Level. Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation on any topic).
• Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution industry
• Knowledge about Project organization and engineering process covering his field of activity
• Legal right to work in Mexico. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

• Knowledgeable of Alstom technology.
