Role Summary: The Machine Operator 2nd shift will operate one or more of the following machines: CNC Machining Centers / Cells, CNC lathes, conventional mills, drills, lathes, grinders, hobs and / or other machines as assigned. In this role, you will be responsible and have the authority to carry out assigned tasks.
In addition you will :
Work from blueprints, operator inspection plans and verbal instructions
Obtain required tooling and materials from departmental storage area, returning when job is completed
Obtain special tooling and inspection equipment as required
Make necessary adjustments to equipment and or tooling to attain specified dimensions and finishes
Perform in-process inspection as required on inspection plans
Change cutting tools and machine attachments as required
Notify coach when supplies reach low limit or are required, when tools need sharpening and when equipment needs maintenance
Move tools and material by hand truck, lift truck, conveyor, or manually
Keep area and equipment clean and orderly and lubricates equipment on a scheduled basis
Fill out all necessary forms and verify counts when work is completed
Other duties as required
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 2 years of general machining experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Willingness and ability to lift up to 25 pounds, as required
Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
