Role Summary: This Legal Counsel position will report directly to the General Counsel of GE Mexico providing premier legal services to GE Industrial. This role will work with legal team members and business functional teams providing broad scope legal advice, negotiation and drafting on agreements, practices, operations and other arrangements.
Essential Responsibilities: The Legal Counsel will be responsible for the following: Independently draft documents, agreements, side letters, and other closing documents. Perform document research regarding document provisions and interpretations. Report out to lead attorneys and outside parties as necessary. Assist in-house lawyers in reviewing legal agreements to ensure compliance with policies. Independently manage transaction closing documents and coordinate with deal team members and outside counsel. Act as a liaison between internal and external legal counsel to provide documents required for transaction closings. Assist with litigation document production. Work with cross-functional teams on business improvement projects as assigned by counsel. Drive delivery of: billing and accounts payable, legal entity tracking, etc. Responsible for corporate reporting and overseeing invoicing and approval process.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of minimum 4 years of experience (after being admitted to practice law) in a law firm or corporate environment. Must be licensed to practice law in Mexico. Fluent in Spanish and English. Proven organization and communication skills. Able to prioritize and multitask. Experience interacting at a senior level.
