Role Summary: As a Sr. Software Manager, you will be responsible for managing the deliverables and strategy across Business Optimization and Operations Optimization platform strategies across the GE Renewable Energy Digital business.
In this role, you will own the strategy and execution for the Predix Business & Operations Optimization software products for the GE Renewable Energy business, including migration of legacy platforms to new Predix Cloud platform, delivery of new software products built on the Predix platform, and delivery of Predix Edge based optimization software products.
In this role:
You will lead delivery of Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) applications on the Predix Cloud platform, the Predix Asset Performance Management (APM) platform, and Edge platforms.
You are seen as driving the strategy and software delivery for the Renewable Energy Business and Operations optimization platforms
Partner with stakeholders to develop overall strategy and objectives for product portfolio alignment with the organizations’ overall business goals
You may manage other managers or individual contributors - The leader is both a technical leader within the function and also is responsible for developing and coaching his/her employees within the function.
Lead multiple globally based Agile development teams (U.S., India, Europe)
Rapid prototypes: defining and de-risking opportunities through rapid cycle software innovation and demonstration
Product, PaaS or SaaS development: driving innovation, value and growth through program execution
Quality: defect detection, tracking and elimination; test frameworks and automation
Engage with senior business leaders, product owners and GE customers to understand market needs & vision; quickly translate market, business and technical needs into demonstrable software on a regular rhythm
Work with senior business leaders and product owners to manage program definition, execution, launch and support; defining and executing against multi generation software technology plans
Work with Cyber Security Leader to ensure products meet key industry security standards and products follow security best practices throughout development lifecycle
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Cloud Software development, managing large complex development organizations, and experience in Agile Software development.
5 years of leadership experience

Guides, influences and determines decisions regarding team wide adoption of new technologies. Evangelizes modern agile technologies & processes to development teams, stakeholders and GE Renewable Energy Digital executives
Agile Software Development Lifecycle with emphasis on Cloud platform delivery (CI/CD, SCRUM)
Must demonstrate technical capacity to solve problems and instantiate solutions in working code
Experience working in a Java web development shop
Solid understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems
Solid understanding of software development tools & infrastructure
Partner and work closely with wider Renewable Energy Engineering teams to identify synergies, collaboration, talent development, technology development initiatives
Partner with peers to create a culture of strong customer focus and high performance to drive innovation
Establishes framework for a culture of successful collaboration by defining a common understanding of who has decision rights and accountability, and how collaboration and transparency are rewarded.
Strong oral and written communication skills including executive level
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple development teams in geographically diverse setting
Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions
