Role Summary:
The Senior project Engineer SCADA act as primary technical interface with Commercial Operations, Application Engineering, Compliance/Certification, Sales, Engineering COEs, Supply Chain Management, Project Management and GFO for project execution of new wind Turbines installation- He/she will have a strong focus on WindCONTROL and SCADA related tasks and requests.

Essential Responsibilities:
Manages the project technical schedules & information and tracks projects to completion including Engineering fulfillment of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), WindCONTROL, wind turbine controls & electrical scope:



  • Translating contractual/project requirements into product definition and providing project specific bill of material for turbine and SCADA/WFMS

  • Creating project specific customer & commissioning documentation

  • Configure software & control parameters and per site requirements

  • Program small WindCONTROL adaption according to project/grid requirement

  • Providing technical and troubleshooting support for site installation & commissioning

  • Provides timely support for responses to all internal and external customer technical inquiries, meetings, and communications, including review of customer specifications & site data.

  • Identify and schedule resources to develop and timely execute turbine and SCADA specific customization

  • Act as mentor and provide guidance and training for other team members and functions

  • Lead and drives crossfunctional initiatives for continuous improvement and/introduces new approaches and strategies including but not limited to:


    • Product definition management speed & quality

    • Communication to/from Commercial teams

    • Electrical grid code interfaces and compliance



Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master Degree or equivalent in electrical or computer engineering sciences
  • Passion for electrical power systems and equipment
  • Solid working Experience in Wind Energy and controls/IT infrastructur/electrical power systems
  • Strong analytical skills and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Availability to travel to customer and global GE sites up to 20% of the time

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Experience in SCADA, controls or power conversion equipment
    • Experience in wind farm equipment design, installation, testing or commissioning
    • Experience providing technical support to Sales, Commercial and Services functions
    • Proficiency with SQL, OPC, ODBC, MODBUS, networking and controls software
    • Experience with TCP/IP network over fiber optic, wireless, and microwave infrastructure
    • Experience troubleshooting, configuring and deploying enterprise system
    • Experience in working with global teams
