Role Summary: The NA Consumer Lighting Product Management organization has an exciting opportunity for someone with commercial and / or technical experience in the industry as a Senior Product Manager. The job requires an individual with demonstrated aptitude for leadership and product line ownership in a highly dynamic cross-functional environment. This position will be critical to help drive and achieve the sales growth and margin expectations of the product line.
In addition you will :
Manage product lifecycle from concept to retirement
Develop go-to-market strategy for the product line including channel strategy and product differentiation
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and Total Cost Out (TCO) plans and processes to ensure product line leadership and profitability
Understand and conduct analysis of competitive capabilities and determine GE response
Identify consumer and retailer customer needs
Use insights to segment the market, develop product strategy and customer value proposition
Assemble and lead cross-functional teams (Technology, Supply Chain, Marketing etc.) to execute product strategy while fostering constructive conflict and debates that aid in continuous improvements
Consider and leverage partnerships and technical innovation to generate market place differentiation
Work closely with the marketing team to develop and maintain key sales support material: product specifications, product catalogs, brochures, competitive cross-references, technical application guides, etc.
Take an active role in supporting the sales team in customer meetings, bids and presentations
Own and drive key financial metrics including revenue and profitability
Make financial tradeoffs and manage risk
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, industrial distribution or related discipline from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 7 years of Product Management experience
MBA from an accredited university or college / Business background
Consumer product experience a plus
Project Management experience a plus
Entrepreneurial spirit for fast innovation
Strong abilities to work with cross-functional teams, help create consensus, and drive execution
Proven ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussion and action
Excellent planning, problem solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong multi-tasking abilities
Experience with developing product strategy
