Role Summary:
The Marketing Analyst is accountable for data driven insights into our customers, markets, competitors and products to drive product line share gains and profitability. In this role you will support long-term product planning, customer segmentation, win loss analysis, competitor GTM strategies, customer value and marketing operations.

Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, you will:

  • Identify and prioritize incremental growth opportunities through new products / services, new markets, or share growth of existing customers
  • Understand the product marketplace by knowing the customers and their pain points
  • Develop customer insights based on holistic interpretation of qualitative and quantitative market research and customer data
  • Identify and validate customer requirements (e.g., pain points, needs, benefits sought) to support new product introduction (NPI)
  • Own SAS metrics and segmentation strategy to measure share gain and identify growth opportunities
  • Develop customer value propositions for NPI and product positioning (e.g., Reason to Believe)
  • Analyze the competition, their portfolio and technical and commercial strengths and weaknesses
  • Work on win loss analysis to identify and translate best practices and opportunities for product and commercial improvements
  • Partner with Commercialization and Sales teams to drive adoption of key New Product Introduction campaigns
  • Develop marketing plans to drive customer engagement and pipeline growth
  • Evaluate, interpret and present quantitative data via mathematical and statistical modelling
  • Present findings and recommendations and provide strategic advice in what to do with the results
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Experience with Tableau, V look up and pivot tables
  • Support customer segmentation or buyer persona development based on buyer values or customer behaviors/needs (e.g., cluster analysis)
  • Capture emerging trends within customer segments and develop corresponding strategies
  • Work closely with Product Marketing Leaders and Central Marketing Leaders to prioritize business and information needs



Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing or Statistics from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategic Marketing, Market Research, Product Marketing or Region Marketing, Customer Insights or Data Science function, Sales operations

  • Basic understanding of market research techniques and statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated skills in ability to interpret large amounts of data and manage multiple projects successfully
  • Comfortable finding and integrating third party data sources with business systems
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Driven change agent with bias for action
  • Ability to work in highly matrix, cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Current knowledge of the energy industry
  • Knowledge Gas and Steam Plants and their assets: Gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, boilers / HRSG and balance of plant
  • B2B Marketing experience
