Role Summary:
Lead strategic quality initiatives for the Bently Nevada business to improve product quality while driving down cost of failure.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Product Quality Engineer - Software & Services you will:

  • Maintain site ISO 9001 certification with focus on the Quality Management System (QMS) vitality and effectiveness
    o Drive QMS procedural compliance while leveraging a common QMS across GE Digital Solutions
    o Identify and manage internal audit plan for responsible sites and support external agency / customer audits
    o Audit departments to the QMS, to verify procedure validity, functional compliance, and discover improvement opportunities
  • Develop and deploy effective Quality Metrics to facility
    o Consolidate various quality data (CIR, TNPS, QMS) to manage metrics on regular basis for staff reporting and in order to identify areas for continuous improvement activities (NCA / RCA projects)
    o Work with finance to report accurate Cost of Quality data
    o Provide business case analyses to drive further product quality investments
  • Continuous Improvement
    o Lead Cross Functional Root Cause Analysis on customer issues, non-conformances, and detractor issues
    o Facilitate Corrective and Preventive Actions. Mentor others on proper application of CI tools
    o Assist in developing, facilitating and reviewing LEAN or shop floor quality projects
    o Leverage Lean Six Sigma and Change Acceleration Process to facilitate process and organizational improvements
  • Customer Focus
    o Monitor customer returns and promote timely execution of customer return process
    o Work with cross-function teams to provide analysis reports for internal and external customers
    o Facilitate process for generating and distributing Technical Information Letters, Field Notices, and Product Update notices to internal and external customers

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality or engineering

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Green Belt certified (GE Employee only)
  • Clear Thinker – Ability to translate complex problems into clear, auditable requirements
  • Strong verbal and written Communication Skills and Influencing Skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical / statistical skills / computer skills
  • Demonstrated self-starter, ability to perform effectively with minimal oversight
  • Strong competence in SAP and other IT tools
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Black Belt / Master Black Belt Certified (GE employees only)
  • RCA Trained or Certified
  • Lead Auditor Trained or Certified
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, especially ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO17025. Extensive experience with internal or external quality system audits
