Role Summary: Works on multiple projects as a project leader or internal consultant. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas.
Essential Responsibilities: Essential Responsibilities: As a Senior Robotics and Autonomous Systems Architect you will work with GE Global Research and GE Business teams to design and architect commercial grade robotics inspection solutions for industrial assets. In this role, you will:
Develop, lead and grow new technology concepts with strategic impact focused on robotics, autonomy, cyber-physical systems, and the Industrial inspection
Lead projects, relationship building, and the development of new autonomous and robotic systems technology
Interface with business leaders and provide direction and guidance for technology roadmaps
Identify key technical issues and focus resources to produce cutting-edge technical breakthroughs in the area of cyber physical systems technology
Actively participate in design, architecture, and development efforts of robotic inspection solutions for industrial assets
Guide robotics researchers on the principals of software design and architecture
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
A minimum of 12 years of experience in enterprise system design, architecture, and integration OR Master’s degree with 8 years of experience in enterprise system design, architecture, and integration

Experience in design and development of distributed cyber-physical systems, autonomous systems, robotic systems, simulation environments, and human-robot interfaces
Strong track record as a thought leader and influencer
Experience developing autonomy solutions for a diverse set of problems (e.g. planning, positioning, perception, etc.) and domains
Familiarity with core robotics and autonomy concepts including path planning, kinematic and dynamic modeling of robots, perception, graphical simulation, and GUIs
Possess superior problem solving skills, and independent decision making abilities, all while operating in an extremely demanding, fast-paced team setting
Significant experience in C/C++/Python/Java programming
Experience with the ROS or other robotics middleware and OpenCV, OpenCL, PCL, and CUDA
Experience in an industrial domain (e.g. oil & gas, energy, transportation, etc.)
Experience with embedded robotics platforms developing online algorithms
Well connected with external thought leaders, technology providers, and users of robotic and autonomous systems
Experience with wireless sensor networks, and wireless communication protocols
Familiarity with industrial control systems
Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI-CD)
Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies
Demonstrated ability to convert high-level customer needs into a technical development strategy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Communicate effectively both in written and oral English
Self-motivated, innovative, willing to pursue new technical areas and capable of working independently
Reviews exceptions and makes recommendations to architectural standards at a domain level.
Demonstrate knowledge of business' structure (P&Ls) and the interplay of functions to support business goals; demonstrate knowledge of the business products, key processes, suppliers, customers and market/competitors.
Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale.
Takes a systems perspective that inter-relates internal and external factors for planning. Envisions compares and contrasts multiple potential medium range operational futures.
