Role Summary: In the role of Manufacturing Process Engineer – 2nd Shift, you will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertize to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and affect short-term and long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Process Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and affect short-term and long-term business goals.
In the role of Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will:
Develop and maintain manufacturing methods and create process routings
Guide and help lead multi-functional, off-shift operations across multiple product lines
Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets
Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
Conduct cost/benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment
Support EHS projects in cell
Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements
Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
Support the quality function through integration of ISO/QC documentation and Manufacturing methods Instructions
Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell
Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track/drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues
Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other locations
Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution and minimum 7 years of manufacturing or operations experience)
Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing or operations
Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift schedule
Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing
Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing / operations / engineering)
Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
Strong organizational skills
Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously
Ability to work in a matrix organization
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects
Strong project and team leadership
