Role Summary: The Lead Forecasting Specialist demonstrates accountability for accurate and timely outage forecasting reporting for the sub-region. In addition, the Lead Forecasting Specialist is a key member of the region operational team who partners with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain and other functions as needed to facilitate critical resource and demand planning during all planning cycles and management reporting.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Lead Forecasting Specialist, you will:
• Facilitate and develop the combined capital parts forecast from product line teams, ensuring the parts forecast plan supports the sales, outage forecast, and inventory plan • Develop an operational year plan for the own department activities • Suggest improvements in products, processes and procedures • Contribute to plan of larger unit • Work together with high level people from the business and SPB and EB level • Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done • Work with diverse clients in a region • Work on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks. Some latitude to deviate from those conditions
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business from an accredited college or university • Minimum of 3 years of experience in power generation sales, marketing, forecasting, operations, or contractual services
Desired Characteristics: • Knowledge of Power Services core product portfolio, business segments and systems (GE employees only) • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills for a broad and diverse audience at all organizational levels • Forecasting and analytics experience • Contractual, commercial, and technical exposure • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment • Experience in creating and implementing process improvements • Strong computer skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, web applications, and modeling or analytical software tools such as Tableau • Experience with databases and database management is highly beneficial • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Established project management and organizational abilities • Adaptable / flexible; open to change in response to new information and ambiguous situations
