Role Summary: This Production Associate 1 position will perform primary tasks for Manufacturing of DNA and RNA, Quality Control Testing, Post Process modifications, and Finished Goods handling.
Essential Responsibilities: • Completes the primary tasks in assigned areas including Synthesis, Quality Control, Post Process, and Packaging. • Basic equipment tasks include: reagent filling; liquid-handling robot setup, operation, and cleanup; and handling of customer samples for final packaging. • Collects requested data and communicates them to Supervisor. • Maintains proper Housekeeping per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and 5S standards within the department. • Participates in Team and Department meetings as required. • Attends training as required. • Other duties as assigned, and may be asked to be included in quality activities, training sessions, and employee activity teams • Comply with EHS regulations and policies
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or a closely related field; • Typically 1-3 years relevant laboratory experience; • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of a laboratory; • Must be able to use a computer with previous work experience in MS Outlook and Excel; and • Proficient typing skills. • Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers as appropriate to the individual laboratory; • Good analytical skills; • Professional and clear communication skills, both written and verbal; • Excellent interpersonal skills with the talent for teamwork; and • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions: • Duties of this job are regularly performed indoors. • Work is primarily in a laboratory environment and may include some work in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, and storage locations. • This position is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, reach and pull with hands and arms. • Work includes standing on your feet for the majority of each shift. • Associate is regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30-45 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. • Personal protective equipment must be worn to include lab coats, safety gloves, and safety glasses. • Must be able to work overtime as required.
Desired Characteristics: • The ability to multi-task; • Critical thinking skills for a fast-paced environment • Both the aptitude and the ability to apply what was learned in school in this real-world application such as analyzing LCMS and HPLC data.
