Role Summary: Leads a cross-functional/multi-disciplinary team of Project leaders and their respective project teams for a medium/small internal project program. Individual leads the team to deliver project objectives to the business, drives clarity by defining/prioritizing the work, defines critical success factors/deliverables for the team. This position works with the Business and Core Teams to manage project risks, deliver quality and impactful business results, within budget.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Overall responsibility for the program success and impact on the overall business strategy 2. Creates and ensures effective and efficient communication across business functions; motivates and energizes the team through leadership 3. Works closely with the Leadership team to drive project direction 4. Leads cross-functional and/or multi-disciplinary project planning supporting multi-generational projects to support the business strategy 5. Works with the internal Business Sponsor to deliver internal project results relating to tools, process, systems, structures, compliance, people development, and other non-product related objectivess. 6. Solves complex and ambiguous problems leading the strategic and forward-thinking program execution including (but not limited to) concept discussion, program execution, rollout, training, pilot trials, and successful delivery to the business 7. Works with customers to solicit input and feedback to meet quality and customer expectations 8. Understands and openly supports all functional goals 9. Provides mentoring and coaching to develop cross-functional project leadership talent 10. Provides expert guidance and support to the program organization in various technical/functional aspects 11. Creates and supports the stewardship of intellectual property with appropriate security of project documentation
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent (defined as a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant work experience) 2. 3 years relevant project leadership experience 3. Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional project teams and an ability to drive project design plans to completion satisfying quality, performance, schedule and budget 4. Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards 5. Demonstrated understanding of cross-functional needs and interdependencies to successfully deliver a product program 6. Demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills in driving closure on product/program-related decisions/issues
Desired Characteristics: 1. Demonstrated experience driving variable cost productivity (VCP) and Inventory Carrying Value (ICV) reduction to enable optimized product margins 2. Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent (defined as 12 - 15 years progressive experience within engineering, science, or related field, including 5 years project leadership experience within manufacturing, development, or research development) 3. Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the segment products 4. Sound technical and domain experience in at least one functional technology area 5. Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycle 6. Strong written and oral communication skills 7. Excellent knowledge in engineering, program management and business planning processes having experience with the full product lifecycle 8. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 9. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation 10. Demonstrated LEAN skills
