Role Summary:
New Steam Turbine and power generation technologies require continually more advanced performance from the turbine control systems. Steam Turbine Application Engineer provides technical support and creative solutions to drive business opportunities in the MEA region.
Prepares technical proposals (including research, technical description, performance, and cost definition).

Essential Responsibilities:
•Work on technical proposal for Steam Turbine Conversions, modifications and upgrades.
•Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
•Prepares technical proposals.
* Supports engineering deliverables and engages in the solution of field issues
•Recommends approach to meet the technical and program requirements.
•Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and contract commitments.
•Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
•Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization.
•Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
•Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
•Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks.
•Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
•Co-ordinate with various internal GE teams to develop & lead customer solutions.
•Provide support to sales team for technical discussions with customer.
•Present technical solutions at user conference or similar forums.
* Leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business or is a recognized expert in a specialized field.

Qualifications/Requirements:
•Bachelor of Engineering / Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
•At least 8-10 years of experience in an engineering, field service and/or technical product position with extensive exposure to steam turbines.
•Exposure & expertise on GE or Alstom steam turbines preferred.
•Fluency in English.

Desired Characteristics:
-Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
- Strong background in steam turbines is a must, other technologies such as gas turbines, generators, control system is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- PC proficiency
- Ability to guide and influence others
