Role Summary:
The Senior Director - Data Architecture will be a key thought leader in
driving all levels of strategy, vision and execution to deliver on the mission of world-class Data
Science and Data Analytics within GE Digital and across GE. You will influence and provide
expertise across the organization by establishing the company-wide data architecture roadmap
and engagement model for Financial data analytics utilizing business and industry knowledge.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide thought leadership on an integrated data architecture spanning the relational and big
data landscape, representing the multitude of GE Finance functional areas and key business
processes including Accounts Payables, Receivables, General Ledger, Supply Chain,
etc.
• Drive innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap) and design of an
enterprise data architecture framework (using Agile, Fastworks, DevOps, ArchOps, etc.) to deliver
against team and company goals. Requires challenging all members of cross-functional team
(business leaders, engineering, design, etc.) to think boldly and creatively and then to funnel that
energy into concrete products and execution plans.
• Collaborate with a worldclass
team made up of the full spectrum of the data architecture and data science function (data
architects, data scientists, structured and unstructured analytic researchers, data management,
and data engineers) across the company to develop and lead the data strategy while working in a
fast-paced, challenging, and data driven environment.
• Maintain a strong
understanding of existing and upcoming ingestion technology (e.g. Talend, HVR, Spark), drive
innovation in the space, execute proof of concepts and oversee the execution of
delivery.
• Responsible for people management activities including vendor
management, recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, organization
and teaming.
• Produce external thought leadership on GE’s Digital Industrial
strategy through keynote presentations, articles and industry publications.
• Be a
creative problem solver and generate ideas that will benefit the company; recognize opportunities
within the market and quickly mobilize to take advantage of those opportunities by creating,
articulating and executing against the strategic plan.


Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance or Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or
equivalent
• Work experience in Information Technology
• Proven
experience working with global enterprise data (e.g. Finance ERP, Supply Chain etc.),
OLTP/OLAP data modeling and design
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT
experience in a Big Data tech stack including HDFS, Greenplum, Talend, Spark, Hive
etc.
• Prior experience managing a global team of architects and developers in a
fast-paced environment
• Resourceful and quick learner; able to efficiently seek
out, learn, & apply new areas of expertise as needed


Desired Characteristics:
• Experience with Cloud computing
• Confronts difficult circumstances in creative
ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of
personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships
• Able to
articulate technical concepts in non-technical terms that appeal to business stakeholders
