Role Summary: In this role, the Chemical Technician - Analytical Instruments will provide laboratory and test support to the Biochemical engineering team, focused on the development of biodetection/measurement platforms for the pharmaceutical and water processing industries.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Chemical Technician - Analytical Instruments, you will:
Conduct experiments as defined by or in conjunction with other team members
Write technical test reports, documentation of experimental protocols, and communication of test results
Order of project supplies as needed by chemical engineering team.
Embrace lab safety and environmental policies
Accurately follows established environmental, health, and safety procedures
Perform biochemical lab housekeeping and maintenance
Ensures lab areas are clean and organized and maintains inventory of lab supplies
Be responsible for the inspection and testing of lab safety equipment
Be responsible for the maintenance of analytical instrumentation and water systems to ensure continuous operation
Maintain chemical, equipment, and computer inventories for the chemical labs
Bachelor's Degree ( OR High School Diploma / GED with minimum of 4 years of Laboratory related experience OR an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of laboratory related experience)
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory with bio / biochem / chemistry equipment and testing
Ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Detailed oriented with the ability to prioritize and organize activities
Possess mechanical/electrical aptitude to experiment with a wide range of analytical instrumentation and setup sensitive measuring devices and equipment
Experience with bacterial endotoxin testing of water, in process samples, raw materials and final product
Experience with endotoxin and LAL purification, formulation, and optimization
Bachelor's Degree in a life science field of study such as chemistry, biology or biochemistry
Excellent communication skills
Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation
Knowledge of water chemistry and experience with standard methods for measuring contaminants in a water matrix
Ability to utilize statistical tools and methods in conducting work
